Kim walked over, took the phone and held it to her ear. When she heard no one on the other end she hung up the phone. Her voice was angelic, “Is everything alright? Who was that on the phone?”

“It was my Mistress. She’s coming home a day early. She’ll be here on Thursday around six.”

“Where does she want us to pick her up from?”

“She’s getting a ride. She said she will call you later today.”

Kim kissed me on the top of my head and then helped me to my feet. “I want the both of you to clean up in here before you leave for class. I’ll see you both later today at lunch.” She walked over and kissed Justine and then left.

The entire day was fuzzy. I walked around in a haze. I wanted to confess my soul to Justine, but I knew she would hate me. I knew how much she loved Kim. How could I have fucked up so bad? I not only failed myself and my Mistress ... I failed my best friend as well. I don’t know where to begin to put this straight. What was even worse was that I didn’t even know if I wanted to.

I had about thirty minutes before Kim would be out for lunch. I went to the free speech area and sat on a bench. It’s not exactly private, but people usually leave you alone there. Besides it was too nice of a day to be inside.

Justine sat next to me. She pulled out a sheet of paper and handed it to me. “I meant to give this to you before we left. Kim wants me to go over this with you.”

I took it from her but I didn’t look at it right away. “How are you doing? Kim was a little rough on you last night.”

“I’m a little sore, but otherwise I feel great.”

“It looked like you passed out at one point.”

“It’s hard to explain. It doesn’t happen often. That was only the second time it happened to me. I’m aware of what’s going on around me. It’s just that I like just get carried away.”

“I was concerned. But I guess Kim knows what she’s doing.”

Justine tilted her head and gave me a quizzical look. “Are you alright?”

“Yes I’m fine. Why?”

“It’s just that you usually call Kim, Kimberly. But you called her Kim twice.”

I wanted to crawl into a hole and die. How do I say to my best friend, I think I’m in love with your girlfriend? “She just seems more like a Kim to me now. That’s all.”

Justine started laughing, “An airhead? Kim seems more like an airhead too you now.”

“No it’s not that. She just doesn’t seem as scary.”

“You must be one masochistic bitch. I freaked out the first time I saw a flogger in use. But then again the two of you did get sort of close afterwards.”

“I … I…” I was at a loss for words. I was so burnt.

Justine touched my arm and smiled.
